Hey,

I need a logo for a brand new restaurant concept which will start this autumn in Berlin/Germany.

The "East London" will be the first Restaurant which offers modern, fresh, english food.
Beside the restaurant I offer take away and a shop where u can buy your favourite english fancy foods.

My mission is to show the world that english food is more than lamb & mint sauce or fish & chips rolled in a newspaper ;-) Thereto I´ll use high quality food and modern recipes.

The briefing I gave was to show u how I would like it to look, but it doesn´t say how the logo should look. U all had different ways to interprete my interior vision and please don´t think your work was bad.
I didn´t have a clear vision of how the logo should look like, that´s why I put my project on 12designer. Now I know that the winning proposal is what I wanted.

Well, i think i can answer your question : clients briefing is normally made to give us a direction and to clarify what could be their way of looking at the work. As you can imagine everyone has is own style and sometimes just playing with it can give to the client your very own style. This could be appreciate or not. By the way the real answer is that we are here to express ourself, hope you agree with this. @Loukas: Jetzt halt wirklich mal den Ball flach. Wenn das in Deinem Fall ein Ideenklau sein soll, dann müßte man ja sobald jemand die gleiche Schrifttype in einer komplett anderen Gestaltung verwendet von Ideenklau sprechen.
Beispiel: "Ey du benutzt die Futura, ich hab die zuerst benutzt, hör auf meine Ideen zu klauen!"

@ Micha_B: Uff.... du hast recht, das ist mir nicht wirklich aufgefallen. DIe Idee mit dem "Underground"-Kreis und der Assoziation Teller ist mir schon wesentlich früher gekommen, skizziert hatte ich schon wesentlich früher. Habe natürlich studiert, was dem Auftraggeber gefällt und bin zu dem Schluß gekommen, dass es Großbuchstaben, eine puristische Schrift sind und die Farben sind (habe alle Farben der bestbewerteten Entwürfe ab 3 Sterne aufgenommen und alle Kombis ausprobiert). Ausserdem schienen mir ein stilisiertes Besteck gut anzukommen. Den Vorwurf der Kopie weise ich von mir. Die Schrift ist eine völig andere, die Anordnung auch und wie Du richtig sagst, der Kreis hebt sich von der Typo ab. Eine Ähnlichkeit ist völlig unbeabsichtigt und fällt mir jetzt erst wirklich auf.

Also lieber Loukas… dein Entwurf gehört eh zu den weniger gelungenen, also mach dir keine Sorgen, dass jemand anderes von deinem Entwurf profitiert. Der Entwurf von CN-K unterscheidet sich völlig von deinem.
Die größte Ähnlichkeit sehe ich bei #211-#216 von dluens und #97 von kaki. Es ist ähnlich, man könnte von Kopie sprechen. Allerdings sind solche Ähnlichkeiten bei sehr puristischen Elementen nicht selten und sind wahrscheinlich eher Zufall, vor allem weil die Idee mit dem roten "Underground"-Kreis nahe liegt. dluens unterscheidet sich durch die bessere Schrift und die Anordnung des Subtextes. Das O hebt sich mehr ab von der Typo. Aber noch nicht mal da würde ich von Kopie sprechen. Also Loukas… zu behaupten, dass Du beklaut wurdest ist schon sehr gewagt. Ich sehe keine gestalterische Ähnlichkeit zu CN-K. Es gibt sogar Fonts, bei denen das A so gestaltet ist.
