Hierarchy, an old word in a new world: the new 12designer's user experience status

Every day we've got the same smile on our faces: computers on, look at our Community, their messages, their input, their fresh ideas, their talented approach to hard communication issues... We have a lovely pandemonium where passion and professionalism fight and love each other every day, in every project.

We always said: a good idea shall always prevail. That's a fact. But it is also true, that a 23-year-old trainee may not have the same ideas as an experienced Art Director, with Photoshop-wounded fingers. In order to match and sort these differences, and therefore to offer you new features, we've created our 12designer's user experience status. 

 

 

This status is intended to mean something: we wanted to "reward" those creatives who made a bigger effort in our platform, by giving them a special status, which will allow them to have more visibility and presence. In fact, we will widen our functionalities during the next week to ensure a proper categorization and scoring, i.E., we'll offer more possibilities of rating someone else's proposals (if feedback has been always important, just imagine now!). Brand fresh new ideas are more than welcome!

We will aswell launch in September our 12premium project type, in which only the creatives with a higher experience level may take part, and minimum prizes will be obviously higher. Experience takes its toll ;-)

 

How will it look like?

Experience levels will be shown in your profile in this way:

 

On what are these levels based?

As you could imagine, we have to use specific criteria to rate your activity at 12designer. We know: there are really creative proposals, and others... they keep trying ;-) In a perfect world, we would be able to rate those perfect and hipercreative proposals with extra points; but we're just imperfect humans, and therefore we have to base our ratings in feedback (comments and rating from someone else's proposals), in how many projects you've taken part, and in your wins. The amount of submitted proposals will have no influence in this rating: sorry, compulsive submitters ;-)

Levels will be:

Newbie: recently registered at 12designer

Junior: from 10 points and 1 project participation onwards

Promise: from 100 points and 10 project participations onwards

Senior: from 200 points and 1 project won onwards

Expert: from 500 points and 5 projects won onwards

 

We know it will happen: a creative registers himself at 12designer, and receives a Newbie status automatically, even though he know every little Photoshop trick for years. When it happens, remember: submit good proposals, rate other's work, and provide feedback and comments. You'll be in a thunderlight-time in the Senior category ;-)
